This novel is titled Honor In The Son. It is a fast-paced, action-packed, tale of family loyalty, duty, and honor. Set in 1981, with fascinating characters and crisp dialogue, the story revolves around Stefano, a man who has become a virtual slave to his family debt. Although it isn't monetary, the debt keeps him under the thumb of a New York City organized crime group, with his family's welfare dependent on his success at "repaying" it. Now, with the crime group's demands escalating towards murder, Stefano needs to find a way out. But Stefano's focus is diverted when a senseless, violent crime leads he and his younger brother, Nico, to the Florida Keys. Their family's past is revealed in flashbacks as the brothers become immersed in a seething cauldron of violent dopers, "Marielito's," good and crooked cops, and federal agents (DEA, IRS and Customs) in their quest to solve the crime. Everyone seems to have their own agenda. However, when their interlude in the Keys has ended, it has only served to postpone Stefano's focus on his main concern: the family debt. Will he ever be free of it? Finally, he must return to New York City to confront it. (See "HITS - Excerpt" for more.)

Rating Just in case anyone has a question on this topic: Honor In The Son is a book for grownups. If I was giving it a rating like a movie, I would give it at least an "R." There are several sex scenes and some strong sexual innuendo; violence, with some of it graphic; and several curse words. I have a 15 year old daughter and I wouldn't feel comfortable with her reading the book for at least two or three years, if then.
